Precision Metrology provides complete repair services for all types of hand tools and dimensional measuring equipment. Dedicating over 5000 sq feet of our facility to the repair and calibration of hand tools, Precision Metrology stocks replacement parts for all major brands of gages including Mituotyo, Federal, Starrett, Brown and Sharpe, ST Industries, SPI, and many more. In addition, our repair capabilities include a fully equipped machine shop with a precision surface grinder, lathe, milling machine, crystal cutter, sand blasting machine, paint booth and more. We also utilize parts cleaners and ultrasonic cleaners for cleaning of movements and gages. Micrometers and snap gage measuring surfaces are lapped utilizing 2 Scherr Tumico lapping machines. Everything that a repair technician requires is at their disposal to provide the best quality service available. Most of our repair technicians bring over 10-20 years each in experience in the repair of hand tools. Tricks of the trade are everyday occurrences at Precision Metrology. Every gage is repaired to original manufacturers' specifications whenever possible. Limitations are noted on the calibration sticker and certificate of calibration. Every instrument received into our laboratory is cleaned and lubricated as necessary. Movements are inspected for wear and parts are replaced as required. It is our policy not to exceed 50% the cost of new when providing repairs without the authorization of the customer. Quotations are available upon request. Precision Metrology also manufacturers it's own replacement crystals whenever possible saving our customers several dollars per gage when they are required. Bore gage and dial indicator contact points are re-surfaced on our lathe whenever possible, again saving our customers several dollars per instrument; bore gages even more. Precision Metrology also provides calibration and minor repair services for hand tools in the field. Over 75% of the calibration services performed by Precision Metrology on mechanical gages are done in the field. With multiple standards available to our technicians, calibration services can be performed easily in more than 5 locations at one time including our own facility. Precision Metrology is a leader in field service calibration of all types of gages and equipment.
