What Is Positive Growth?

The mission of Positive Growth Inc. is to strengthen the lives of children, youth, adults, and families during difficult life transitions. Positive Growth Inc. (PGI) was founded in 1994 and is a non-profit organization accredited by the National Council on Accreditation (COA). We help people with mental-illness, substance abuse disorder, emotional, behavioral and developmental needs to live productive, healthy and valued lives within our community through treatment and support services. We nurture our clients by providing access and support through a host of programs that concentrate on counseling, behavioral health, education, residential care, and homelessness prevention. We invest in the holistic development of our clients so that they are always able to THINK POSITIVE. In October 1997, PGI was licensed by DHR, as a child care facility to provide a safe, clean and nurturing home-like environment for troubled and homeless adolescent males between the ages of 6 and 21. In 2007, PGI initiated its Community Based Family Service Program through Positive Growth Intervention and Education Center to provide integrated child-focused and family-centered services throughout the Metro Atlanta Area. In 2012, PGI initiated its Transitional Living Homeless Program for male’s ages 18-24 who have either aged out of foster-care system or experienced homelessness due to employment, education, financial, physical, mental and emotional restraints. In 2014, PGI Education Center was licensed by the State of Georgia Bright from the Start as an Early Care Learning Center. In, 2015, PGI opened its Multicultural Services Center to provide multilingual and culturally sensitive mental health, social, and educational services to immigrants and refugee children, youth, adults and families in more than (11) languages from various ethnic and linguistic minority groups.
