What Is Pocono Environmental Education Center?
The Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) advances environmental education, sustainable living, and appreciation for nature through hands-on experience in a national park. PEEC, an independent, residential, environmental education center, is located in northeastern Pennsylvania within the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Since 1972, PEEC has been serving a national and international community of over 25,000 students, teachers, adult learners, professionals, families, hikers, photographers, birders, and tourists each year. Programs are individually designed to meet the specific needs of each participating group, regardless of abilities. Programs and activities are cooperatively designed with participating agencies and PEEC staff is often called upon to design and implement programs beyond the scope of existing activities to meet the specific needs of visitors. PEEC is the perfect place for learning, exploring, getting away, and connecting.
