Philadelphia Youth Basketball (PYB) is a basketball-based youth development organization founded in June of 2015 by a diverse group of professionals dedicated to creating opportunities for young people, particularly those from under-resourced families and communities, to reach their full potential as students, athletes, and positive leaders. While PYB’s mission integrates basketball skill development and gameplay, as well as the intangible life skills young people develop through the sport (i.e. leadership development, confidence, teamwork, problem solving, and resilience), the organization is equally motivated by its academic programming, leadership development support, and committed cadre of caring coaches and mentors. PYB hosts a variety of programs designed to empower young people to be the best they can be. These programs include the Middle School Partnership Program, Collegiate Summer Camp Series, Girls Empowerment Program, and our Local & International Leadership Programs. All of PYB's programs are carefully designed and analyzed in order to ensure the positive trajectory we seek for the young people we serve.
