Mission: Our mission is to assist chronically-ill patients with unaffordable medical expenses. About PSI: Founded in 1989 by Dana Kuhn, Ph.D., PSI is the “groundbreaking” national 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that finds health care solutions for the uninsured and underinsured in the United States. Through disease-specific programs, PSI assists by subsidizing the high cost of health insurance premiums; pharmacy and treatment co-payments; and in addition, expenses associated with Medicare Part D (“donut hole”) for persons with specific chronic illnesses and rare disorders. This financial assistance is offered to patients in all 50 states and is based upon the severity of medical and financial need. This innovative business model utilizes public and private donations to fund financial assistance programs that provide a "safety net" for those persons and their families that otherwise might "fall through the financial assistance cracks".
