What Is Palm Tran?

In 1971 public transportation began serving the residents and visitors of Palm Beach County. Today, Palm Tran is better than ever, providing over 10 millions rides per year. Palm Tran travels to every major destination in Palm Beach County- from Jupiter to Boca Raton and from Palm Beach to the Glades. Palm Tran runs seven days a week (excluding holidays) serving more than 3,200 bus stops with 150 buses. Generally speaking, weekday peak service runs every 30 minutes. Off-peak service runs every 60 minutes. Weekend service runs hourly on most routes. Timed-Transfer points allow for easy movement from the north/south main routes to the east/west routes. Palm Tran also serves several park-and-ride lots throughout Palm Beach County. All Palm Tran buses are equipped with wheelchair ramps, automatic stop announcement systems, audio and video monitoring equipment, and bike racks. Palm Tran riders can view the real-time location of buses and easily plan their trip online using a computer or smart phone. These online tools "IGo!" use Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) technology that is on board buses and operate through Google Transit maps. In addition, System Maps and Rider's Guides are available at no charge. CONNECTION, Palm Tran's paratransit division, provides a high quality door-to-door service for the County's senior and disabled population. Connection continues to implement service enhancements in order to improve performance, increase customer advocacy, and promote a positive attitude within the community. Palm Tran Connection can be reached at (561) 649-9838. Palm Tran's mission is to provide access to opportunity for everyone; safely, efficiently and courteously.
