What Is Pain Treatment Center?
The Pain Treatment Center is dedicated to providing comprehensive, technologically advanced care to patients suffering from chronic pain. Over the years, founder, Dr. Pyles has developed a reputation as an innovator in the treatment of chronic, intractable pain. He is the inventor of the Pyles needle, an epidural needle used in the placement of percutaneous SCS leads. Dr. Pyles has six more patents pending relating to various interventional techniques and devices. Currently, spinal cord stimulation plays a predominant role in Dr. Pyles’ practice. A native of West Virginia, Dr. Steve Pyles graduated from the Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington, West Virginia. While completing his anesthesiology residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine, Dr. Pyles became very interested in the treatment of chronic pain. In 1986, he established the Florida Pain Clinic (FPC) in Ocala, Florida. The Pain Treatment Center is dedicated to providing comprehensive, technologically advanced care to patients suffering from chronic pain. As he built his pain practice, Dr. Pyles became interested in the modality of spinal cord stimulation. In the late 1980’s he began teaching SCS technique and application to his peers as a proctor at some of the very first SCS cadaver workshops. Dr. Pyles has also instructed residents and fellows in advanced interventional techniques for the past 20 years through his affiliation with the University of South Florida.
