PSA International is one of the absolute world leaders in container handling. PSA participates in port projects across Asia, Europe and the Americas, with flagship operations in Singapore (the world's largest container terminal) and Antwerp. The group currently processes some 185,000 containers per day, which amounted to a total of 67.63 million TEU in 2016. The terminal in Singapore accounts for almost half of this volume. The Belgian PSA Antwerp, PSA's largest investment outside of Singapore, processed 10.04 million TEU in 2016. PSA Antwerp is referred as the PSA group's second flagship. PSA Antwerp operates 3 container terminals and 1 multipurpose terminal in the Port of Antwerp. Over 85% of all containers that come into Antwerp pass through one of these terminals. In addition to container handling, PSA Antwerp is also active in general cargo handling. This includes handling of commodities such as iron and steel, wood products and other cargo. In order to further develop these activities, PSA set up a joint venture with the Nova Natie Group in 2000. Together they founded the company NHS.
