What Is PHARUS?

Pharus Advisors is a boutique merchant banking firm providing M&A, financing, valuation and strategic advisory services in a variety of technology and growth-oriented industries, such as enterprise software, tech-enabled services, digital media, education technology, personal care and dermatology, and consumer health. By Entrepreneurs, For Entrepreneurs: Founded by entrepreneurs, Pharus has a unique understanding of entrepreneurs and knows every business is unique and special. Pharus develops an in-depth understanding of each client’s business and marketplace, then designs and deploys a tailored transaction approach that best meets the needs and sensitivities of each client. Pharus also makes select investments into early-stage companies where it actively participates in the development and future success of the business. It invests independently, with clients as part of a capital raise and through its affiliate, Pharus Investment Partners. Pharus is Latin for lighthouse, originally from the Greek (φάρος). Pharos is the small island off the coast of Alexandria, Egypt, where Sostratus of Cnidos built the family lighthouse in 290 BCE. The lighthouse stood 100m tall and it became one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. We felt the lighthouse metaphor was appropriate given our role in guiding companies through complex M&A and capital raising engagements.
