“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit . . .” Matthew 28:19 The Orthodox Christian Mission Center (OCMC) is a missionary based non-profit that reaches throughout the world, changing lives and saving souls. It is the missions and evangelism agency of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops in the U.S.A. to proclaim the Gospel around the globe; to be the hands and feet of Jesus worldwide. In 1984, when OCMC was founded, there were no Orthodox missionaries being sent or living in the field. OCMC now works in over 30 countries, with new missionary efforts launching worldwide; supporting more than 350 indigenous mission clergy, 11 indigenous seminaries; 18 missionaries living and serving abroad; and we have sent over 2,400 volunteers in the field on 305 short-term projects. OCMC helps establish programs with women groups, building churches, schools, medical facilities, self-help initiatives, revolving loan funds, and more. We work to meet the unique and specific needs in each area we serve, and we do so with the blessing and direction of hierarchs in each mission field.
