What Is Olsson?

Olsson Associates has more than 50 years of private and public consulting experience in the Midwest, Rocky Mountains, and the southwestern United States. Headquartered in Lincoln, Nebraska, we employ more than 650 staff members. Olsson is ranked 193 in the Engineering News Record (ENR) top 500 consulting firms. From the moment you walk through our doors, or meet one of our employees, you realize there is something deeper at work, embedded in our culture, intrinsic to our people. Olsson Associates is more than a group of talented engineers, planners, scientists, and landscape architects. We are a comprehensive team of dynamic, hardworking, hard-playing, success-oriented professionals who solve problems, create new environments, and provide specialized services in nearly every market imaginable. The Olsson team operates under well-documented and strictly enforced quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) procedures. The QC procedures and inter-disciplinary design review process has been used on all projects for the last 25 years, including federal projects. The published guidelines have been endorsed by the American Institute of Architects and American Consulting Engineers. The objectives of the design quality control plan are to satisfy our clients' desires and requirements for their project, consistent with imposed time and budget constraints and technical practicalities; comply with applicable codes, standards, laws and regulations; select cost-effective concepts and systems; minimize design, specification, and drafting errors; produce contract documents within budgets and on schedule; and to reduce liability to the client and the company. At Olsson Associates, we recognize that each one of us embodies this commitment to quality in our individual work, in our work as a team, and in our work in partnership with our clients. We believe that quality processes and tasks should be woven throughout the project, from beginning to end. We believe that these quality processes must rely heavily on peer review techniques, because when these processes are executed effectively, the result will be not only a high quality product, but also a sense of teamwork between the Client and Olsson. The goodwill and confidence of our clients is essential to our business. A key differentiator for this project team is the Client Service program. This program is unique because it allows periodic evaluations of the project team's success through meetings with the client. The findings are reported directly to project team principals with feedback to the program manager and team members. These services are not charged back to the client, and it has been found to be an excellent tool to judge both areas of success and areas where the team needs to focus more attention. The Client Services Assurance Officer is part of initial contract meetings, meets periodically with managers during completion of task orders, and performs the task order close out meeting.
