What Is OSO BioPharmaceuticals Manufacturing?
OsoBio was launched in May 2008, when a group of private investors acquired the Albuquerque, New Mexico, sterile injectables manufacturing business from Catalent Pharma Solutions. The company was renamed OSO BioPharmaceuticals Manufacturing, LLC. Prior to the acquisition, the business had a history of providing sterile injectable manufacturing services for almost 30 years. Built by Summa Medical in 1980, the company and facilities were later acquired by Erbamont and renamed Adria SP in 1988. In 1993, the business was acquired by Pharmacia and became Pharmacia-Upjohn in 1995. A management buyout in 1997 led to the company being renamed SP Pharmaceuticals, which then joined Cardinal Health’s Pharmaceutical Technologies and Services (PTS) Division. When Cardinal PTS was acquired by the Blackstone Group in 2007 and renamed Catalent, the Albuquerque business was offered for sale. In May 2008, the current investors purchased
