Trauma Informed Care is an organizational structure and treatment framework that involves understanding, recognizing, and responding to the effects of all types of trauma. The vast majority of kids we serve have been severely traumatized at some point in their lives. The TIC model views maladaptive behavior as a coping mechanism – the best they have available at the time – and seeks to heal with patience, teaching and understanding.
