What Is Norsk Titanium?

NTi developed a RPDâ„¢ technology, that produces titanium parts. Modern airliners increasing use titanium and carbon in their construction - they are lighter, use less fuel and easier to maintain. Thanks to aviation pioneers Boeing and Airbus, soon every commercial aircraft will be made from composite and titanium, which is used for engine pylons, door frames, attachments, landing gear components & brackets. The lightness and strength of carbon fiber is realized through its unique compatibility with titanium. Our technology helps our clients to reduce cost, lead time and helps preserve natural resources. The traditional way of milling titanium parts (out of blocks of titanium), scraps up to 40 kg per 1 kg that sees flight. Our Merke IV RPD â„¢ machines take our customers'”‹ CAD files + titanium wire as input, to produce 'near net shape'”‹ aerospace grade components at the rate of 5-10 KG/hour, with a 'buy to fly'”‹ ratio as little as 3 to 1. NTi's RPDâ„¢ saves several million dollars per composite airplane & reduces the amount of titanium to be mined. Our Headquarter, Technology Center & Production Center is located at Eggemoen (Ringerike, Norway). In Plattsburgh NY (USA) we opened our new facility to showcase our Additive Manufacturing production line, to qualify and produce aerospace components. WORK FOR NTi?
