What Is Nexus Health Systems?

Since 1992, Nexus Health Systems has offered a continuum of care for pediatric and adult patients recovering from an acquired or traumatic brain injury, sudden accident, disease, or illness. \n\nThrough individualized and comprehensive rehabilitation, Nexus addresses the medical, interpersonal, behavioral, cognitive, physical, and emotional issues affecting patients. Extending beyond traditional therapies, Nexus treats the entire person – an approach that helps make rehabilitation more successful.\n\nThe company, which is privately owned and headquartered in Houston, Texas, has continued to be a national leader in physician-driven clinical neuroscience as well as a pioneer in the neurobehavioral field. In order to meet patient demand, Nexus has continued to expand its services to multiple facilities – including freestanding specialty hospitals and a residential rehabilitation campus – throughout the greater Houston area and in Orange, California.\n\nNexus Children’s Hospital(formerly HealthBridge) breaks the mold of traditional hospitals, offering our patients and their families a home-like setting designed to make children feel comfortable and like they aren't in the hospital. Our locations in Houston, Texas and Orange, California combine the technology, equipment, and acute, long-term post-acute, ICU step-down, and rehabilitation services provided in hospital settings with a community atmosphere.\n\nNexus Specialty Hospital offers medical and early intervention services for patients who are stable enough to discharge from the hospital, but still require specific care. With two locations in Shenandoah, Texas and The Woodlands, Texas, our Specialty Hospital offers ICU and ICU step-down settings for patients beginning their recovery process.\n\nNexus Neurorecovery Center(formerly Touchstone), located in Conroe, Texas, offers neurobehavioral rehabilitation ranging from short-term to life-care programs. Providing comprehensive treatment, our center meets the physical, cognitive, behavioral, and vocational needs of residents with neurological diagnoses. Recently undergoing a major expansion and renovation in 2014, Nexus’ 26 acre Neurorecovery Center now offers a state-of-the-art rehabilitation gym, multiple houses for varying levels of care, as well as areas for meaning rehabilitation including a fishing pond, greenhouse, and craft center.
