What Is New England Center for Homeless Veterans?

In collaboration with the Massachusetts Executive Office of Economic Affairs (EOEA) and the Massachusetts Division of Employment and Training (DET), the New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans has established a public and private partnership to outreach, assess, train and place veterans in various entry-level positions throughout Massachusetts. Within this collaborative, DET coordinates a statewide outreach campaign working with local veterans employment representatives, to identify veterans who need training; vocationally assess each veteran determining whether he or she is ready for skills training; and refer the veteran to services including one of the training components offered by the Veterans Technical Training Institute, known as VetTech. DET and the Shelter work together pooling resources to insure that veterans are placed in full-time, long-term positions upon graduation from the specific training programs.
