What Is National Institute for Health Research?

The Clinical Research Network supports research to make patients, and the NHS, better.\r\n\r\nWe are part of the National Institute for Health Research - which is the clinical research arm of the National Health Service in England.\r\n\r\nWe provide the practical support that academic and commercial life-sciences industry researchers need to make studies happen in the NHS, so that more research can take place, and more patients can take part.\r\n\r\nThis practical support includes:\r\n\r\nReducing the "red-tape" around setting up a clinical study\r\nFunding the people and facilities needed to carry out research "on the ground", so research activity does not drain resources\r\nHelping researchers to identify suitable NHS sites, and recruit patients to take part in research studies\r\nAdvising researchers on how to make their study "work" in the NHS environment
