Nashville Electric Service is among the twelve largest public electric utilities in the nation, distributing energy to more than 325,000 customers in Middle Tennessee. The NES service area covers 700 square miles, all of Davidson County and portions of the six surrounding counties. Our core business is to provide reliable, quality electric service at a reasonable cost to our customers. At approximately 6.5 cents a kilowatt hour, NES rates are among the lowest in the nation. Out of every dollar NES receives in revenue, about 80 cents goes to TVA to pay for purchased power.
