NXNE Music, Gaming, Comedy and more Festival is one of the largest and most important in Canada held every June in Toronto. NXNE was formed in 1995 in partnership with Austin's SXSW and celebrates its 26th anniversary in 2020. 2020 dates are August 11 -16. Discovery is at the core of NXNE's music programming featuring top international and Canadian acts in ascension. Acts like: Run the Jewels, St. Vincent, Billy Talent, Sarah Harmer, Feist, Broken Social Scene, the Weeknd, Joey Badass, Grimes and a hundreds more have all played the festival at critical stages in their careers. NXNE shuts down Canada's biggest street, Yonge Street to cars to create a two block Festival Village for three days presenting top headliners, emerging acts, stand up comedy and much more to over 50,000 festival goers. NXNE's 2019 Festival Village is June 14 -1 6. The festival also takes over most of Toronto's top live music venues for much of NXNE's 10 days. Top Canadian musicians present their favourite up-and-coming acts along with shows booked by top national and international Tastemakers. Admission is with one low price priority access wristband to all shows. Previous Club Land Curators include: Leah Fay (July Talk), Jim Cuddy, K'os, Terra Lightfoot, Shad, Terra Lightfoot, Ian D'Sa (Billy Talent), Brendan Canning (Broken Social Scene) and many more. NXNE begins every year with an extensive eSports tournament, Game Land, on it's opening weekend June 7 - 9 in 2019. Top gamers from around the world compete for cash prizes in front of live audiences as well as on-line on NXNE's Twitch channel. NXNE has featured great comedy for years with the festival's main comedy focus now being the Comedy Tent in the Yonge Street Festival Village.
