NELSON has grown and evolved since its inception in 1977. Founded as an interior design firm by John J. Nelson, Sr., the organization did some of its most visible architectural and interiors work during its early years. By focusing on high profile renovations and large new space installations throughout the 1980's, the firm won national and international awards for interior design and lighting and its work was featured in various publications. As corporations globalized and focused more on core competencies, the need was recognized to minimize the number of firms they engaged for outsourced services and seek out firms with an expertise in multiple disciplines. NELSON responded to this trend at the onset and was an industry leader in developing its Integrated Services Solutions model.
