Mundo Verde Bilingual Public Charter School in Washington DC is an expeditionary learning school dedicated to education for sustainability and biliteracy. Mundo Verde Bilingual Public Charter School offers parents in Washington, D.C. an exciting new option for quality, tuition-free education for their children. At Mundo Verde, we seek to create a diverse, nurturing environment that fosters social and emotional development as well as academic excellence. We motivate life-long learning by empowering students to explore, learn, and think. Mundo Verde embraces an educational model known as Expeditionary Learning that has proved successful in Washington’s most sought-after public charter schools. We are the only school in the District to also focus on environmental sustainability and bilingual education. Eventually serving students through eighth grade, Mundo Verde opened in August 2011, and now it serves student at two campuses.
