Mountain Heights Academy, formerly Open High School of Utah, is an accredited, tuition-free, online public charter school available to all Utah students in grades 7 ? 12. Founded in 2009, Mountain Heights Academy has become the premier online high school in Utah for its high standardized test scores, unparalleled teacher interaction and personalized instruction. Academically Rich Customized Instruction Schoolwork is divided into weekly modules, which empower students with the freedom to complete their assignments when and where they choose. Eligible students can earn both university and high school credit. Because of Mountain Heights Academy?s personalized approach and academic opportunities, the school is ranked 31st in Utah among all high schools on CRT test scores. Socially Empowering Through events such as monthly service-learning activities and school dances, students have opportunities for face-to-face social activities outside of school. Leveraging Technology Each MHA student is issued a laptop at the beginning of the year and the implementation of technology gives Mountain Heights Academy students the tools they need to succeed in today?s competitive market. Award-Winning Mountain Heights Academy is the recipient of many prestigious awards, including Best of State, three United States Distance Learning Association awards and in 2010, U.S. Ed. Sec.
