Moneytree is a fintech company based in Japan. It was founded in 2012 when the founders identified a need for consumers and small businesses to have seamless access to their financial data. That vision was transformed into Moneytree, a personal finance management app (PFM) launched in 2013, that went on to win Apple?s app of the year two years in a row. In early 2015, our core business was transformed into Moneytree LINK, a user-centric financial data portability platform that allows consumers and small businesses to transport all of their financial data to and from an entire ecosystem of services. In late 2015, Moneytree KK became the first startup to receive simultaneous investment from all three Japanese Megabanks (Mizuho Capital, Mitsubishi UFJ Capital, and SMBC Venture Capital), in a funding round lead by Salesforce Ventures. Today, Moneytree LINK is the uncontested #1 provider of financial APIs in Japan. Moneytree LINK powers apps from Mizuho Bank, SMBC, and Ikeda Senshu?the largest bank in Western Japan. Moneytree LINK is also deployed by the Japan?s #1 provider of business accounting solutions, and by Japan?s #1 provider of consumer accounting solutions. Including embedded products like Mizuho Bank?s ?Direct? app, Moneytree now reaches an install base exceeding 4,000,000 individuals; and through accounting partnerships, Moneytree reaches hundreds of thousands of small to midsized businesses. In 2017, Moneytree will be expanding beyond Japan, taking its unique vision of financial data portability to new markets, including Australia.
