What Is Missouri Valley College?

Founded by Presbyterians in 1889, Missouri Valley College is a private, coeducational, career-oriented, liberal arts college with growing national and international outreach, a destination for students from all fifty states and forty foreign countries. Known for its dynamic, richly diverse, and friendly educational environment, the College prepares students to succeed in a knowledge-based global society. Missouri Valley College offers a Master of Arts in Community Counseling as well as baccalaureate degrees in over 30 majors including business, criminal justice, education, agribusiness, and nursing, just to name a few. Students also participate in 7 pre-professional programs and 23 varsity teams in 15 sports. Missouri Valley College has the best winning record in football among small colleges in America. It fields championship teams in rodeo, wrestling, and other sports. With a student body of some 1,400, on a beautiful campus in west central Missouri, Missouri Valley College has been continuously accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (formerly North Central Association of Colleges and Schools) since its inception in 1916. Education programs are accredited by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. The Athletic Training program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education. The Nursing program has been granted initial approval by the the Missouri State Board of Nursing and is nationally accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
