What Is Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship?
Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship at Santa Clara University envisions a world where all people are architects of their own future. Our mission is to accelerate entrepreneurship to end global poverty and protect the planet. We do this primarily through business accelerator programs for social entrepreneurs, and fellowship programs and courses for students. Through Global Social Benefit Institute, or GSBI, accelerator programs, we support businesses that are focused on creating positive social impact for people living in economic poverty through a market-based approach. We partner with these social entrepreneurs in all facets of their business to ultimately increase their funding, thereby increasing the number of people they can help. GSBI accelerator programs uniquely connect impact business leaders with experienced business executives who provide accompaniment and mentorship over the course of several months, using robust structured content to guide the social enterprise leadership through assessing and improving their impact model, business model, operations, growth strategy, and justifiable investment ask. No other impact accelerator provides the depth of support and mentor expertise that we deliver. We measure success in part by the Net Promoter Scores of our participating social entrepreneurs and volunteer mentors, the capital raised by program participants and the number of people those alumni organizations have been able to benefit after our programs.
