We pride ourselves in always being ahead of the rest in new truck innovations. Last year a great company named CFI won the Smartway award for innovations because they are now running the Michelin X-1 tires. We have been running these tires for 6 years now, we just didn't join that program because we didn't want to share our advantage. Our new 2008 ProStar Internationals have every option available for driver comfort, efficiency, and most importantly safety. We have equipped each unit with an APU {auxilary power unit}. This is a generator with cooling and heating systems so that the drivers won't have to idle the truck motor when sleeping or waiting to load or unload. This system is somewhat like what you would have on your motorhome. The Eaton Vorad system is also onboard. This is basically a radar system mounted on the sides and front of the truck. The system alerts the driver of vehicles in the blind spot during a lane change etc. It also picks up on anything in front of the unit such as deer or slow moving vehicles faster than the eye, to help avoid potention problems. This unit also has a black box to help us reconstruct accidents and try to further avoid problems. We have also incorporated the Benix ESP system which is an antiroll and anti skid device. This system monitors wheel slippage , yaw and roll. It takes the throttle away from the driver and applies brakes etc to keep vehicle under control. We use the Peoplenet system for satellite tracking and driver communication. This is quite common, but we have gone a step or so further and we get exception reports via e-mail from the trucks to give us information such as fuel mileage, panic stops, sudden starts. This allows us to see and counsel drivers with poor driving habits and also see ahead of time if a truck is not up to par on fuel mileage. These are just a few of the things we have done to help with our never ending goal for perfection , customer service, driver comfort, and most importantly safety for all who share the highways with us in route to serving you.
