Melbourne United is a professional men's basketball team in the Australian National Basketball League (NBL). Our purpose is to win championships whilst providing the highest level of engagement and entertainment on and off the court. Formed in 2014 after playing in the NBL as the Melbourne Tigers for 30 years, Melbourne United is the only NBL team for Victoria. More than 700 businesses are engaged in our United in Business program, providing a networking platform for like minded Melbourne United affiliates and leading business identities, access to bespoke events and partnership and B2B opportunities. We have deep and valuable community roots, with more than 10,000 children having participated in a community program across Victoria this season; from Mornington Peninsula to Ballarat, Berwick, Hawthorne, Essendon and beyond. Since the start of the season, our school program You Got Skoold has taken the entire playing roster to 16 schools in Melbourne. More than 100 basketball clubs and associations are partners of our Grassroots Program, allowing us to support more than 2,000 junior teams. More Melbournians are part of the MU family than ever before, with membership revenue up 58% compared to last season. During the 2016-17 season, Melbourne United play 12 home games at Hisense Arena and two games at the State Netball Hockey Centre. Crowd attendance is up 10% on last season and we expect to see more than 100,000 fans this season. Melbourne United is part of LK Group, founded by co-owner of the Club, Larry Kestelman.
