McColl's are a leading neighbourhood retailer serving the Convenience and Newsagent sectors with a strong national presence throughout the UK. Comprising over 1360 stores including over 1,000 convenience stores, we are the second largest multiple convenience operator in the UK. We have aggressive growth plans in part enabled by our store acquisition programme an example of which is our acquisition of 298 convenience stores from Co-op which will transition to McColl's over the next 6 months. Our strategy is based on providing local communities with a full range of amenities, top brands and neighbourhood services at competitive prices. The convenience side of our business is where we see significant opportunity for growth, both for our customers and our staff. Growth will be supported by the acquisition of further quality independent convenience stores as well as by converting our existing newsagent stores to convenience format. We will work to improve the customer offer across our convenience store portfolio, particularly in terms of fresh and chilled produce. We also plan to expand the range and services in our newsagents and variety stores to cater for changing consumer needs, such as increasing the number of Post Offices we operate. Significant investment has already been made to improve store standards and the customer experience.
