What Is Martin Wine Cellar?

Martin Wine Cellar on Baronne St. is the flagship store of a New Orleans institution. As such, it has been the anchor of an ever expanding organization, serving generations of uptown and university area clients with fine wine, spirits, gifts, gourmet foods, and a legendary bistro/deli. As the owner and a resident of uptown, I am committed to returning to this location to serve our uptown clientele once again. However, the Baronne St. location suffered extensive damage during Hurricane Katrina. Considering this damage, the age of the building, and the out-dated plumbing, electrical, A/C, etc., a partial demolition and renovation of the store, or, if necessary, a total demolition and construction of a new building will require detailed planning and time. Our plan is to have a state-of-the-art retail space including a bistro/deli and catering department to serve our New Orleans clientele. There is much to do, and since we have the unique opportunity to redesign and reconstruct this store to its greatest potential, we intend to do just that. The planning stage has begun and I will announce details as they are developed. In order to serve our customers in the meantime, until the Baronne St. location is reopened, we've opened a small Martin Wine Cellar with wine, spirits, gifts, cheeses and gourmet foods at 3500 Magazine St. Thank you again for your continued support of Martin Wine Cellar. I look forward to offering the best wines, spirits and foods to my uptown clients for decades to come.
