Mark One Electric Co, Inc. was founded in 1947 under the name Monarch Electric and serviced small business, commercial and industrial accounts. After working for Monarch for nearly 25 years, Carl "Red" Privitera bought the company in 1974, renamed it 'Mark One' and grew the business by focusing on industrial clients such as GM and Ford and large commercial accounts like SWB and AT&T. Through Red's efforts, Mark One developed a reputation for being able to handle the tough jobs and worked in car plants and industrial facilities throughout the United States. In 1994 Red stepped down and the company passed into the hands of his daughter, Rosana Privitera Biondo, President, and her three brothers: Joseph A. Privitera, Vice President; Carl J. Privitera, II, Vice President; and Anthony L. Privitera, II, Vice President. During their tenure, Mark One has become one of the area's top electrical contractors, participating in several of the region's high profile projects, such as the Ameristar and Argosy Casinos, UMB Technology Center, Commerce Trust renovation, The Kansas Speedway, and nearly one third of the electrical systems on the Sprint Campus, including Building 4, the Technology Center.
