Marham envisions bridging this gap between the stakeholders of the health industry, health practitioners and the recipients of their services, using technology. Marham is an IT supported product in the form of a mobile and website application and a toll free number. The scope of this project is to enable patients to pre-discuss their problems with doctors on Marham's forum, locate the right doctors in their proximity, book an appointment etc. This also caters to the doctors who are struggling to reach out to patients and stay connected with them. Marham's as a virtual forum would enable female doctors to provide consultancy from home through video calls. This will also help the female patients who are not comfortable in consulting male doctors. This system also takes into account the problems of the less privileged localities like high child and maternal mortality and drug abuse. Marham has devised a mechanism of automated calls and is also setting up a toll free number for people who don't have access to smart phones and Computers. This market has a potential to generate $0.8 Billion annually from Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system subscription, advertisement of the insurance and pharmaceutical companies and sponsored doctor listing.
