We believe in putting people before profits. As a local credit union, we give back our profits to members through lower loan rates, higher returns on savings, and our special bonus dividend payout. Established in 1936, MECU is Baltimore City's largest credit union, with assets of approximately $1.2 billion. MECU has nine branches throughout the Baltimore area and offers a full range of financial products and services. The credit union also provides access to over 30,000 free ATMs and 5,000 shared branches nationwide through the CO-OP network. Over the past 37 years, MECU has returned more than $81 million in profits to our members through our bonus dividend payouts and loan interest refunds. MECU is committed to giving back to the local communities we serve. All employees receive paid volunteer time to participate in outreach projects and support local nonprofits.
