Loyola high school, Patna established in 1969 is a christian minority institution run by the society of Montfort brothers of St. Gabrial, Ranchi Province. Intially affiliated to Bihar School Examination Board since 1976 it switched over its affiliation to Central Board of secondary education in1993. The senior secondary section with PCM and PCB was introduced in 2000. The commerce and computer streams were initiated in 2003. The school has prospered over the years into one of the premier educational institution of Bihar and Jharkhand with its motto of "daily towards progress”. The school envisions is to develop a knowledge based society with clarity of thoughts and clarity in deeds committed to serve humanity with integrity. The aim of Loyola High School is to offer holistic education empowering the youth to be leaders of tomorrow; men and women of competence and conscience diligence and discipline. The arch olyectuve of this institution is to educate the youth in the spirit of service to humanity. The school priorities scholastic excellence and formation of youth in discipline hardwork, moral and religious values. These Priorities are meant to prepare the youth for life by promoting intellectual excellence, Characteristic uprightness, emotional maturity, scientific temper and spirit of healthy competition. Co- operation and sportsmanship through co- curricular activities, moral sensitivity to the needs and rights of others, especially the poor religious tolerance and national integration. Co- curricular activities are an integral and constitutive part of the school for encouraging the holistic growth of its students. The school has thus NCC Novel wing, Scouts, school band, Quiz and music clubs responsible for organizing various activities round the year. Students show up their wit, relent, ingenuity and creativity on Annual day or Annual Sports Day. Apart from this the school holds Inter school tournaments in popular games like cricket, football, basketball, badminton, table tennis, chess etc. Scoence fair, Art Exhibition, running and music classes, Class picnics and host of other activities are regular feature which helps to bring out the talents of the students to the optimum. The parents also actively participate in the activities of school through the parents teachers association and contribute generously to the projects undertaken for the benefit of students. Inspite of being a Christian religious minority institution yet it keeps its doors open for others as well irrespective of religion, caste or community.
