What Is Loudoun Convention and Visitors Association?

The Loudoun Convention & Visitors Association (LCVA) is the destination management organization for Loudoun County and its incorporated towns. By developing and implementing comprehensive destination management programs, we promote tourism and travel to Loudoun County and the towns. Serving as the primary programmatic element of Loudoun's travel and tourism promotion, we lead the Loudoun tourism industry to work together as a destination to generate visitor spending. Established in 1995 by a joint task force of the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors and the Leesburg Town Council, the Loudoun Tourism Council (LTC) was created to provide core tourism functions for Loudoun County and its towns. In 2000, the LTC was renamed the Loudoun Convention & Visitors Association (LCVA) to better reflect our organizational structure and the programs we offer. The LCVA is a not-for-profit organization that works with the tourism industry, towns, and county to help define programs that respond to industry and local needs and trends, as well as increase visitation and visitor spending. We provide the following core functions for Loudoun County and its towns:Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing plan to promote Loudoun and its incorporated towns through advertising, direct mail, market promotions, sales, services, production of collateral materials, e-marketing, market research, public relations, product development, and cooperative promotions. Operate a state certified visitor information center that is the central clearinghouse for visitor information. Implement a community relations program that educates Loudoun residents, front-line employees, and businesses about the value of tourism while also encouraging residents to invite their friends and family to visit and host their business meetings, conferences, and events here. Represent the tourism industry to policy makers regarding issues that will directly impact the tourism industry. Participate in regional and statewide tourism initiatives that benefit Loudoun's tourism products. Recommend funding for tourism programs eligible to receive Restricted Transient Occupancy Tax Grants. The LCVA is Loudoun and the towns resource for:Tourism development and marketing Complete visitor information Hospitality and product training for front-line staff Cooperative programming Educational programs Partnership and industry news Visitor sales and services for groups, events, and individuals
