The Loss Prevention Research Council (LPRC) uses fact-based research to develop crime and loss control solutions that improve the performance of its members and the industry. \n\nToday, the LPRC community is made up of over 60 retail members and 70 solution partners. was founded by leading retailers and has conducted over 300 real-world loss prevention research projects. \n\nThe LPRC members meet monthly by phone, webinar or in-person in 10 ongoing Working Groups & Innovation Chains including product protection, supply chain protection, ORC, violent crime, LP innovation, and data analytics. \n\nLPRC PhD level researchers explore, develop, and measure the sales boost, crime and loss reduction, and financial impact of initiatives using scientific methods including:\n•\tRandomized field experimentation\n•\tOffender, consumer and staff interviews and focus groups\n•\tCCTV footage review\n•\tStatistical analyses and models\n•\tSurveys and focus groups \n\nLPRC also conducts proprietary research, training, expert witness and consulting for both members and non-members.
