Lighthouse Youth Center provides the communities they are in with a central location where youth can gather safely for recreational activities, receive assistance on their academic assignments, enjoy the positive influence of adult Christian mentors, and have opportunities to study and discuss the truths of Scripture. The mission of Lighthouse Youth Center is to be a beacon of hope to the youth in the economically distressed Havenwoods and Garden Homes communities of northwest and central Milwaukee. Lighthouse is open to youth between the ages of 10 to 18 years. These youth are able to attend free of charge. We provide a wide range of activities for the youth including reward trips, meals, education support and life skills training. Families in the neighborhood are strengthened by way of programs offered by Lighthouse that assist parents/guardians in parenting skills. Lighthouse introduce to both youth and adults from the community problem-solving techniques that lead to socially acceptable resolutions. Ultimately, because of Lighthouse Youth Center, neighborhood youth will become involved, responsible members of society and contribute to the improvement of the neighborhood. We have been open for 6 years and plan to expand.
