Founded in 1882 as a partnership of two brothers, Leitner, Williams, Dooley & Napolitan, PLLC has grown into a defense firm of national reputation, with more than sixty attorneys in our Chattanooga, Nashville, Knoxville and Memphis offices. Throughout its history the firm has worked for social justice and the interests of our clients in ways which mirror the times. Our founding partner vigorously defended an African-American man unjustly accused of sexual assault at the turn of the century, in the case recently made famous by 1999's prize-winning book Contempt of Court. Over the hundred years following our attorneys incorporated a city, consolidated counties and represented America's rising corporations. Members of the firm have been honored with judgeships, including the appointment of H. Ted Milburn to the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals by President Ronald Reagan.
