Lehigh Valley Academy is currently implementing the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Middle Years Programme (MYP), however, we are not considered an IB authorized school until formal authorization is granted. LVA is committed to working toward International Baccalaureate authorization for the PYP, MYP and Diploma Programmes. This process involves submitting an initial application. If accepted as a candidate school, an IB mentor is assigned to oversee a year long development process which culminates in an authorization visit. LVA has achieved candidate status for the PYP and the MYP. In April 2006, IBO sent an authorization team to examine our practice of the PYP. We are eagerly awaiting the report from our authorization visit. A positive report would result in PYP authorization. In June 2006 LVA submitted Application A to start the authorization process for the Diploma Programme (DP). Lehigh Valley Academy is built on the International Baccalaureate Programme incorporating education, character development, and the application of each. Our class size is limited to 25 students per teacher. Currently 525 students attend classes in Kindergarten through 9th grade. As the school grows over the next few years, we are moving towards a K-12 Programme.
