Lawrence Transfer and Storage was founded in Roanoke, Virginia in 1932 by Weldon T. Lawrence, Sr. In 1942, Lawrence Transfer and Storage joined the United Van Lines family to secure loads for our fleet of furniture vans.Weldon T. Lawrence, Jr. succeeded his father as President in 1950 and vigorously set out to establish the Roanoke based operation as one of the leading moving and storage companies in the Eastern United States. In 1968, Lawrence began operating in the Waynesboro, VA area thanks to our acquisition of another local moving company. In 1972 we built a custom warehouse and office facility to house our Waynesboro operations.
