In 1945, George M. Kurtz conducted his first auction and with it launched a company that has since `conducted auctions in most parts of the United States. Throughout the years, Kurtz Auction & Realty Company has sold many residential, agricultural, commercial, industrial and recreational properties. Some of the more unusual properties sold by Kurtz include a parimutuel Thoroughbred race track, an island in the Ohio River, a whiskey distillery and a 22,000-acre U.S. Army base. Today, our professionally trained, full-time auctioneers conduct over 200 auctions each year for estates, financial institutions, government agencies, individuals and other entities.
