What Is Kula for Karma?
Kula for Karma pioneers the integration of therapeutic yoga, meditation and stress management into mainstream medicine and healthcare. As a nonprofit organization based in the New York metropolitan area, we offer programs, at no cost, to populations that face physical and mental health challenges. Since its inception in 2007, Kula has launched over 300 integrative programs in the tri-state area, touching the lives of over 3000 people. When combined with mainstream healthcare, therapeutic yoga, meditation and breath-work have been shown to decrease stress, relieve chronic pain, and improve overall well-being. Our work can result in reduced healthcare utilization and costs, as well as improved quality of life for those healing from chemotherapy, post-traumatic stress, substance abuse, developmental disorders, and cognitive impairment.
