Kronos was founded in 1975 by Chris Tomaras, a Chicago entrepreneur. Gyros was in its infancy and various chefs made their own recipe, each offering their own quality and taste. It was then that Kronos developed and successfully marketed the first pre-formed and ready to broil Gyros cones. This eliminated the inconsistency with individual chefs product and the standardized Gyros cones led the way to the success and popularity of the Kronos Gyros sandwich. This consistent quality product proved to be the foundation of Kronos. Continued Innovation: Kronos then introduced a complete line of portion controlled Gyros meats. We also expanded our product portfolio through process improvements and acquisitions. We acquired a dairy operation to manufacture sauces and hummus, added new bakery lines, state-of-the-art ovens, in-line freezer and grill press capabilities. Disrupting the Industry: We revolutionized the Gyros industry with our KronoBROIL® Gyros Slices. Our new equipment and manufacturing process flame cooks layer upon layer of savory Gyros to perfection and robotically carves the slices. KronoBROIL® delivers the unrivaled taste, texture and appearance of a traditional Gyros cone without the need for special equipment.
