What Is Kluwer Law International?

Kluwer Law International came into being in 1995 and incorporates the publishing programs of Graham and Trotman Ltd., Kluwer Law and Taxation Publishers and Martinus Nijhoff Publishers. This combination creates a publishing company dedicated solely to providing international information and resources to legal and tax practitioners, scholars, business executives, international organizations and government agencies. With a list of nearly 4,000 books, journals, loose-leaves, and electronic products in 53 different areas of law, Kluwer Law International aims to provide a comprehensive information service to the international law community. To accomplish this goal requires a commitment to publish in small, specialized areas, as well as the mainstream of the discipline. The publications contained in our online catalogue will allow users to judge for themselves how successful our publishers have been in identifying and meeting the needs of international practitioners and scholars. Our search for expert information and the best resources takes us all over the world. We make it a matter of principle that we will not refuse to publish good manuscripts simply because their authors or editors are from "unfashionable" countries, or are unable to submit their work in correct English. We feel that failure to do so would deprive the international law community access to extremely valuable work and would constitute a great impoverishment of the literature. Kluwer Law International's publishing decisions are taken in constant dialogue with our authors and editors, as well as with academics, lawyers, and librarians from around the world. Their advice, support, and constructive criticism have contributed greatly to making our publishing program as comprehensive, dynamic, and unique as it is. We deeply appreciate their involvement. We hope this web site and online catalogue will prove a useful tool for all those involved with international law.
