What Is Kings Wood?

Welcome to Kingswood. We are experts in outdoor education and adventure, and one of the leading providers of residential experiences in the UK. We were founded over 35 years ago and run over 1.2 million activity sessions each year. Throughout the academic year we're proud to welcome over 170,000 young people from more than 35 countries around the world annually.\n\nWe believe that a brilliant residential should be seen as a fundamental part of a well-rounded education.\nBy taking pupils out of a formal classroom environment and into fun and exhilarating experiences focused on challenge and adventure, we encourage whole classes to bond and be captivated, the shyest to shine as leaders and the unmotivated to become the most enthusiastic about developing a new skill. \n\nVoted 'Best Residential Experience' provider in the Study Travel Awards 17/18, we offer a wide range of challenging, high adrenaline and skills-based indoor and outdoor activity sessions (as well as exciting evening entertainment) and strive to make our experiences as impactful as possible. \n\nWe have nine inspiring centres across the UK, plus a Château in France, and provide unbeatable learning experiences outside the classroom. Some of our locations have a friendly campus feel, with spacious buildings sprawling a large\narea, while others are smaller with all facilities close by, ideal for younger groups.\n\nEach centre provides a safe environment for a wide range of over 60 adventurous activities and learning opportunities, both indoors and outdoors, ranging from kayaking and abseiling to problem solving and curriculum linked sessions. Tailor-made programmes focus on a selection of learning outcomes, designed to achieve objectives from team building to personal development through the use of adventure activities. \n\nKingswood is part of the Inspiring Learning Family, which comprises Kingswood Camps (school holiday adventure Camps) held at our specially-designed centres; Kingswood Family Adventures (for the whole family to get involved), and Camp Beaumont, multi-activity day camps which are hosted at schools across London and the Home Counties. Kingswood is also one of the leading providers of the residential phase of the National Citizen Service (NCS) programme.
