What Is KINZE Manufacturing?

KINZE Manufacturing, Inc. currently operates in approximately 700,000 sq. ft., which houses all engineering, manufacturing, warehousing, marketing and administration. Current employment is approximately 540. 1993 marked the beginning of a multiple-year plant expansion program to increase KINZE's production capacity and efficiency. Construction and enclosure of the first phase was completed in late 1994, adding 120,000 square feet to the total plant. The second phase, completed in 1996, houses shipping and receiving areas, repair parts warehouse and a state-of-the-art powder paint system that went on-line in early 1997. New engineering offices were completed in the spring of 1998. Construction of additional warehousing facilities continues into 2001. It is from this location that KINZE continues to design and produce products, using the latest manufacturing techniques, that place it in a leadership position around the world. Jon Kinzenbaw maintains his awareness of the trends in farming and the needs for new products to fit changing practices by personally continuing to operate over 1500 acres of row crops. He is quick to point out that many of the ideas for new products or product improvements come from the time he is in the field on his own farm, a place where much of the field testing and evaluation of new ideas is done on a continuing basis. KINZE products have been sold in 40 countries around the world. The company continues to supply many areas of the world through U.S. based export distributors, and in some countries we have established direct sales to dealers. As trends in agriculture practices in row crop regions of the world continue toward larger production units and reduced tillage, demand for KINZE products can be expected to grow as it has at home. KINZE Manufacturing, Inc. continues to focus on the needs of today's farmers. Jon Kinzenbaw's philosophy of providing the most value to the customer through product quality and reliability drives every decision at the company. KINZE intends to remain on the leading edge of product development to fit changing cropping practices ranging from conventional tillage to high residue management, including no-till and ridge-till; as well as changing chemical and fertilizer application systems. KINZE expects the current trends in all types of conservation tillage and planting to continue. By remaining a focused or specialized manufacturer of planting equipment, the company maintains its flexibility in design and manufacturing and is able to respond quickly to new equipment applications and requirements as trends demand. The KINZE strategy is to provide the customer a single machine-the planter-to handle corn or other crops in 20, 22, 30, 36 or 38 inch rows and soybeans or other crops in 10, 11, 15, 18 or 19 inch rows through the use of push planter units with the exclusive Interplant® system. This eliminates the requirement for an expensive grain drill and is accomplished by offering weight and strength in the planter. KINZE is also focusing on new designs that recognize the growing interest in ultra narrow row spacing, variable planting rates and GPS/site specific farming. By providing a complete line of planter attachments to fit varying cropping systems, this single machine strategy is unique.
