Our innovative hands-on curriculum – provided at no cost to schools, students, and their families – emphasizes real world learning, and motivates youth to achieve by connecting them with corporate and community role models committed to investing in their future. JA’s annual reach is 4.6 million+ students nationwide and 10 million+ worldwide, and during the 2017-2018 school year, JANJ touched the lives of 74,612 students statewide. Through a dedicated network of nearly 6,000 corporate and community volunteers, JA provided NJ students with over 910,000 JA instructional contact hours in 3,800+ classrooms. JA programs supplement school-based curriculum and provide activities that connect education, work and community. These programs are recognized for their integration of 21st century life and career skills within a progressive learning structure that enables the teaching and reinforcement of the financial literacy, critical thinking, collaboration and problem solving skills students need to earn and keep a job while simultaneously helping them meet the NJ Student Learning Standard 9 for 21st-Century Life and Careers graduation requirements. Thus, JA programs give financially challenged schools a no-cost way to provide their students with high-quality supplemental education geared to meeting NJ Department of Education designated student competencies.
