What Is Journal of Health and Biomedical Law at Suffolk University Law School?

The Journal of Health & Biomedical Law provides an important voice to current issues addressing the health law community locally, nationally, and internationally. Massachusetts is home to premiere hospitals, academic medical centers, and many established and start-up biotech and pharmaceutical companies, making this journal a very relevant and impactful publication for the city of Boston. Our Editorial Board consists of talented and dedicated 3L/4L students who work very hard to improve the quality of our journal. Many of these students work part time in private and public-sector jobs related to health law, and some night students work full-time in the field. Our staff members are motivated, intelligent and hard-working 2L/3L Suffolk students who help produce a high quality journal by assisting with the editing process while simultaneously working on their own case comments and notes for publication and by contributing to JHBL’s blog. The hard-work and dedication of everyone on JHBL allows us to publish three times a year. JHBL hosts an annual symposium during the Spring semester, an all-day event focused on a single, important issue in health law with its own publication. Recent symposia have focused on education as healthcare, telehealth and telemedicine, and transplant tourism and the organ shortage crisis. The 2021-2022 Editorial Board is working to diligently to publish quality pieces and maintain JHBL’s impressive national rank. For more information about JHBL, please contact Editor-in-Chief Samantha S. Das at sdas@su.suffolk.edu.
