The Janotta & Herner Inc. story has very humble beginnings starting in 1962. Bob Janotta and Jim Herner formed JHI in Bob's garage and together they picked up small general contracting jobs in the Monroeville, Norwalk, and Bellevue area. With Bob's contracting experience and Jim's abilities as an architect, the design/build concept became the cornerstone of the fledgling company. Both Bob and Jim were committed to providing the highest quality work for an affordable price and found after many repeat clients that their commitment was paying off. The business grew steadily over the next 5 years and eventually reached the point where they hired their first employee. Again, Bob and Jim made a commitment: to treat their employees like family and provide the best work environment possible. Today, Janotta & Herner has few similarities to the company formed in Bob Janotta's garage over 40 years ago. We now have over 160 full time field and office employees and are one of the areas largest construction employers. We have grown from small home renovations and garage building to the design and construction of 450,000 S.F. manufacturing facilities. Our eight member design and drafting team produces a number of award winning projects each year. Armed with the latest state of the art technology, we can interface with sub-contractors, engineering firms, and suppliers in a seamless coordinated effort that ensures quality design.
