What Is Jamb?
At Jamb, our mission is to get the best engineers working on the world's hardest, most impactful problems. Our founder & CEO, Tessa Wanders, previously worked as at a NYC based venture capital fund where she invested in hundreds of tech companies. She found that one of the key driver of success of their portfolio companies was the quality of software engineers a company could attract. Tessa also found that VCs could give companies tens of millions of dollars, but these companies struggled to invest this money in building and shipping great product due to the difficulty to attract and hire engineers in the Bay Area, as well as the rest of the US. Competition is fierce! However, Tessa noticed something interesting happening. More and more of her portfolio companies were looking internationally to find great engineering talent. These engineers were very talented, but often working remotely was a poor experience for the engineer, and not as effective as working in the same office as the rest of the company's team. Having identified the great scarcity of software engineers in Bay Area and the rest of the US, and the large amount of great engineers that lived abroad, Tessa decided it was time to look internationally to solve the engineering shortage her companies faced. And with that, Jamb was born. Jamb is a marketplace that helps international engineers relocate to the US and get hired by great companies.
