Underground utility works, extensive concrete placements and precast concrete installations. Vaults, catch basins and large scale road box culverts are the norm. Electrical sub-station foundation, footer, slab work, caissons, vaults, tremwah installations, carpentry, frame work and an array of other tasks are performed. Since 2014 the crews of Ironwood have been involved with over 40 sub-station projects with more recently awarded and on the horizon. Both Utilities and Municipalities have sourced Ironwood for their gas works due to it experienced Veriforce & Northeast Gas Association certified work force. IRONWOOD HEAVY HIGHWAY LLC has a Vegetation Management Division performing utility line clearance tree trimming operations for many major electrical utilities in multiple states. Within this Division is the herbicide application group consisting of multiple state certified class 6A applicators. Contracted on an annual basis to service thousands of acres of herbicide application. The IRONWOOD HEAVY HIGHWAY LLC Environmental Division supports both timber and composite matting support services in the New England area with multiple utility projects operating at any given time. Ironwood owns tens of thousands of hardwood, 3ply mats, timber mats and bridging timbers. Since 2011 IRONWOOD HEAVY HIGHWAY LLC has been an A Rated contractor with ISNetworld. The Ironwood management team consists of industry professionals with recognized certifications and degrees in engineering, environmental sciences, forestry, safety, construction and equipment. Together they are the leaders and support team for the 260 dedicated field workers. The IRONWOOD HEAVY HIGHWAY LLC Safety Department is led by a seasoned and well know Safety Director in the industry. The team supporting him is comprised of gifted and caring safety trainers and professionals with certifications ranging from CTSP, CSP, OSHA 500 & 501 trainers, degreed Foresters, Red Cross and CPR Instructors. Ironwood Safety leadership was actively engaged in the ANSI Z133 arboricultural safety committee for 5 years during the 2017 revision.
